How is a smart key different from a normal car key?
A smart or proximity key never goes into the ignition. It talks to the car over radio: doors unlock as you approach with the key nearby, and the engine starts with a button. Inside there is still an emergency blade for the door lock. Replacing one means supplying the right proximity unit for your brand and programming it to the car's security system — a basic key cutter cannot do it.
What do you need from me to quote a smart key?
The exact make, model and year, because smart key systems and prices vary widely between brands. Tell us whether any working key remains or all are lost, and where the car is parked. A photo of the old key (or its remains) on WhatsApp lets us match the exact unit before we come.
Is it just a dead battery, or do I need a new smart key?
Try the battery first — a CR2032-type cell in most cases, and your owner's manual shows the swap. If a fresh battery does not help, hold the key against the start button; many cars have a backup detection spot. If the car still ignores the key, the unit itself may have failed, and that is when you call us for a replacement.
What if the car does not detect any key at all?
First rule out the obvious: dead key battery, then the car's own 12V battery — a flat car battery also kills keyless systems. If both are fine and the car still will not detect a key, the problem may be the car's receiver rather than the key. We diagnose at the car and tell you honestly which one it is before any work starts.

Can you replace a smart key if I lost all of them?
Yes. All-keys-lost on a push-start car is a standard job for us: we access the car, then program new proximity keys to it and erase the lost ones from its memory.
Will the keyless entry and boot release still work?
Yes. We program the full proximity functions — walk-up unlock, push-button start and remote boot — and test each one before we leave.
My smart key works only when held against the start button. Why?
That is the classic sign of a dying key battery. Replace it first. If the problem persists with a fresh battery, the key's radio may be failing and need replacement.
Do you need the car's PIN or security code?
Some brands need a security PIN for all-keys-lost programming. Our equipment can pull it on most models; where it cannot, we will tell you upfront what the dealer must provide.
